Lighten Up

There's something about August that triggers our "Solar Plexus." Our emotional center (yellow chakra) has expanded as far as it can go. Green things have reached their peak and are beginning to fade. It's hot, dry, sunny and a new range of colors and flowers are bidding our attention.

If you're a water enthusiast, you probably grab every possible moment to swim, paddle board, kayak, fish, ski or jet ski. The days are still long,  the sun is setting further to the south and the nights are cooling off. The water is cooling off, too! If you're a nature lover, camper, hiker, traveler you're probably well aware of the change, including the different layers of clothes that are required to adjust to hotter days, cooler nights and hopefully fewer mosquitoes. If you're a gardener, the food choices are abundant. There's so many 'good' conflicts to face: what to eat today, what to process that can't be eaten, cooking outdoors vs being inside (ever)! If you're a parent of school age children, this year, you are worried, frustrated and stressing out!

August should be mom's celebration month! You've played with the kids for months and its time to send them back to school. It's time to restructure mom time, office time, work time, dream time and
just being alone for a day! This year demands more patients and hope than anybody can remember. But, some things are still in our control and August is a good month to start creating habits that will come in handy for the upcoming season (sorry winter isn't far away).

First of all.... gather the LIGHT! Soak up the sunshine. Honor the sun with a little prayer perhaps? Did you know that citrus oils (Vitality) taken internally can help regulate your stamina for intense heat? Or peppermint can quickly cool you off if you've overdone the sun? Lavender is so soothing to our skin it is in lots of Young Living products like Lavaderm After Sun cooling sprays and lotions. If your roses don't exude the potency you want when you bring in a vase, get out your rose oil! (We tend to save our rose oil for so long that we forget we have it:) Don't forget to use your oils for cooking either! It's salad season and roasted vegetable season and bbq season and honestly, you don't need a mask if you're outside enjoying all that nature has to offer right now!

We know you can't approach people in person to share all that you know and do with essential oils, but you can smile and you can smell good wherever you go. We can summon up the light inside of us and shed it on others. If you understand a little bit on how ENERGY works, stay positive, because others will feel it!
