Happy Labor Day

Picture
Labor Day was created in the late 19th century as trade and union movements grew. The holiday first honored the American Labor movement with the first parade in New York city in 1887. Oregon was the first state to make it an official holiday. It has been many years since the first Monday in September was set set aside to celebrate Labor Day.
Yes, there are still unions- we are seeing big changes in the way business is conducted, and more entrepreneurs than ever.  Young Living has long played a role in helping people choose a healthier way to  live and work.

This leads us to another reason we celebrate this holiday- it is the last hurrah before school starts and marks the end of summer for many. So,before we shift seasons-we gather loved ones for an end of summer, picnic, BBQ or weekend at the cabin.  We can't think of a better way to savor the last of summer than with some home-made Blueberry - Lavender Ice Cream!

Just 5 ingredients!
Ingredients
  • 2 cups frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup full-fat coconut cream
  • 4 teaspoons Blue Agave
  • 4 drops Lavender Vitality™ essential oil
  • Up to ⅓ cup coconut water
Instructions
  1. Line a small casserole dish or large container with wax paper or parchment paper.
  2. Add frozen blueberries, coconut cream, Lavender Vitality, and agave to a high-powered blender or food processor.
  3. Pulse ingredients together, adding coconut water 1 tablespoon at a time to help the ingredients blend together smoothly. Be careful not to add too much liquid or your ice cream will become too soft.
  4. Pour blended ingredients into the prepared dish, cover, and freeze for four hours.
  5. Scoop into bowls and garnish with your favorite ingredient.
  6. Enjoy when you’re looking for a refreshing, guilt-free treat on a hot summer day.
