Labor Day was created in the late 19th century as trade and union movements grew. The holiday first honored the American Labor movement with the first parade in New York city in 1887. Oregon was the first state to make it an official holiday. It has been many years since the first Monday in September was set set aside to celebrate Labor Day. Yes, there are still unions- we are seeing big changes in the way business is conducted, and more entrepreneurs than ever. Young Living has long played a role in helping people choose a healthier way to live and work. This leads us to another reason we celebrate this holiday- it is the last hurrah before school starts and marks the end of summer for many. So,before we shift seasons-we gather loved ones for an end of summer, picnic, BBQ or weekend at the cabin. We can't think of a better way to savor the last of summer than with some home-made Blueberry - Lavender Ice Cream! Ingredients

Today, we were discussing the word Stewardship -and what an important role it plays in our lives. Stewardship is a word that means "to manage or look after". Such as a farmer being a steward of the land or countryside, Young Living does an outstanding job of stewarding the land, and they do it on a global scale that is truly amazing.
Another description of the word Stewardship is " an official appointed to supervise arrangements or keep order at a large event, for example a sporting event." As summer wains and we move to harvest time at the Young Living Lavender Farm in Mona, Utah plans are underway for one of our favorite events the Fall Festival- September 29-October1. The Fall Festival & Draft Horse Show For us Stewardship also speaks to how we manage our relationships with our families and our teams. This even celebrates not only the land and the people who care for the farms, but family, company values and teamwork. Click the image below for a link to all the details! In celebration of the 4th of July in the USA, we asked our Team of Rising Stars this compelling and thought provoking question.
What does Freedom mean to you?" Gratitude and appreciation for those who serve and have served in the military to protect our freedom was a prominent response. The overwhelming response came down to one simple word that could sum it up - Choice. Everyone mentioned choice, the ability to choose a life that makes sense for them and their families. To travel, to work from home or anywhere in the world with just a phone and an internet connection. The ability to be there for our children and elders. Choosing to work in yoga pants and a t-shirt if that is what makes sense on a given day. The choice to live an "oily life", free of toxic chemicals, embracing instead mother natures gift of essential oils in all areas of our lives. Thank you Young Living Essential Oils for helping us to create Freedom on our own terms! We love helping others to create a lifestyle that works while making more than just a living. We truly are grateful for our global community of freedom seekers!
We could go on and on, but a picture is worth a thousand words! Enjoy! |
